Sunday in Brooklyn: Where Every Day Clocks Out Early

Some restaurants own a mealtime; Sunday in Brooklyn annexed a mood. The Williamsburg all-day spot runs from morning coffee to a wood-fired dinner on the principle that every day should feel like Sunday — and it backs the slogan with a mezcal Bloody Mary and a pancake famous enough to have its own trademark.

The Concept

Opened in 2016 by Todd Enany, Adam Landsman and chef Jaime Young, it is the flagship of the Sunday Hospitality group, with a sister location in London. Young cooked as chef de cuisine at tasting-menu temple Atera before this, and it shows in reverse: fine-dining precision applied to burgers, pancakes and seasonal plates that stay deliberately unfussy.

What to Order

The Sunday Pancakes — malted, draped in hazelnut maple praline and brown butter, inspired by the pancakes of Saturday-morning cartoons — headline breakfast, brunch and even the dessert list. The Sunday Burger stacks double patties with cheddar and special sauce; Sunday Fries come dusted with oregano, tarragon and dijonnaise. At night the wood-burning oven leads: charred pita with hummus or elote butter, seafood-leaning plates, a cookie-and-ice-cream sando to finish. Drink the Sunday Bloody — mezcal, not vodka — or the mezcal espresso martini.

The Space

A multi-level former warehouse with exposed beams, a big bar, white marble tabletops and vintage floral china that winks at grandma’s house. An enclosed garden and a rooftop garden with a fireplace extend the map; natural light floods the daytime service.

Who It’s For

Late risers, remote workers rewarding themselves, groups splitting pancakes and burgers at 4 pm, and anyone who wants Williamsburg’s signature energy without a dress code.

Good to Know

Do I need a reservation? Book on Resy for prime brunch and dinner hours; the room works in walk-ins when it can.

Is brunch weekends-only? No — brunch runs every single day from late morning to late afternoon, with breakfast before it.

Are the pancakes really that famous? Yes — they double as dessert, so a dinner reservation is no obstacle.

Can I eat outside? There is an enclosed garden, plus a rooftop garden used for events and cocktails.

Does it host private events? Yes — from small dinners to receptions of well over a hundred guests across the garden and rooftop spaces.

I didn't like the pancakes. They were a bit dense for me. I also didn't like the sausage (pork or chicken). It seemed to have no flavour. The menu has plenty of interesting dishes. My boyfriend ordered the s'mores latte.…
